Because Only Together We Can

Build a World Where All children have equal rights and opportunities.

Who We Are

Established by Hala Aboulela in 2016, Montessori Foundation of Egypt functioned as a non-profit organization in Egypt from 2017 until early 2022. Throughout this time, MFE played a pivotal role in introducing AMI and Authentic Montessori education in Egypt and other Arab countries. It supported the founding of The Montessori Institute in Cairo, as well as the first Authentic Montessori Schools in Egypt, including Nile River Montessori and Evolution International School. In August 2022, the Board of Trustees of the Montessori Foundation of Egypt decided to transition the organization’s activities into a department under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of The Montessori Institute in Cairo (TMIC).

What We Do

01.

— We Spread Awareness

MFE introduced AMI in Egypt, bringing Montessori education to the Middle East. Our dedicated team tirelessly promotes awareness about human development and authentic Montessori education, emphasizing every child’s right to quality education. We also support all adults who are interested in Montessori training, in various ways such as offering scholarships.

02.

— We Promote Montessori

As the AMI affiliated society in Egypt, MFE shares AMI’s vision, established by Dr. Maria Montessori. Since our affiliation in April 2017, we’ve committed to AMI’s mission: to support the natural development of the human being from birth to maturity, enabling children to become the transforming elements of society, leading to a harmonious and peaceful world.

03.

— We Facilitate Scholarships

Since 2016, MFE has enabled scholarships for nearly every AMI and TMIC Montessori Course in Egypt. Applications are assessed for need, ensuring access to Montessori training for diverse individuals. We also plan to collaborate with Montessori Schools to support enrollment for children from  families who might not afford the regular school fee.

04.

— We Communicate in Arabic

Our website and social media pages offer bilingual content in Arabic and English, reflecting our commitment to our Arabic language. We provide free translations for AMI courses in Egypt, ensuring Arabic translation for our events and resources. This approach not only extends our reach within Egypt but also to other Arab countries. We value our language deeply and are dedicated to assisting Montessori educators in integrating Arabic into their Montessori curriculum.

05.

— We Support Schools

MFE collaborates with schools in Egypt and other Arab countries where AMI affiliates are not yet established. Our partnerships range from community schools to international institutions, including those just beginning to embrace Montessori Philosophy as well as schools seeking AMI Global Accreditation. We believe that Montessori principles, founded on supporting the natural development of children, can benefit educators and children in any setting.

06.

— We Build The Network

MFE is a central hub for Montessori schools and educators across Egypt and the Arab world. We maintain strong connections with AMI graduates and collaborate with AMI-affiliated societies and training centers in the region. Our goal is to strengthen this network, fostering growth and partnerships within the Montessori community in the Middle East.
